Our working relationship with town, parish and community councils is vital to achieving the best for our communities, as outlined in our Corporate Plan. We worked with local councils to create a Shared Statement of Partnership Principles which provides a strong foundation to build on the relationship.

About the county council

• How Hertfordshire County Council works
• There are 78 Hertfordshire County Councillors. They each represent a different area of Hertfordshire and it is their job to represent your interests.
• We run consultations on a wide range of new ideas, proposals and reviews so that you can have your say on the decisions that we make.
• Devolution and local government reorganisation in Hertfordshire.

• Contact a county council service
• Herts FullStop – a one stop shop for stationery and furniture.
• The Hertfordshire Directory lists services, groups and activities for people in Hertfordshire. You can add a listing if it fits the criteria.
• Highways, roads and pavements including fault reporting – tell us about problems on roads, pavements or footpaths such as overgrown hedges, fallen trees, blocked drains or floods.
• Rights of way are footpaths, bridleways and byways which have public access. Report a rights of way issue
• Sustainable Hertfordshire – our strategy and plan to work towards a cleaner, greener, more environmentally sustainable county.
• Countryside Management grants and advice – free advice and support for public landowners and community groups in Hertfordshire on habitat creation, management and restoration.
• Shared Internal Audit Service (SIAS) - 
  We’re an internal audit partnership offering independent and objective assurance and consultancy services through risk-based audit plans and commissioned reviews. Including support for internal controls and Annual Governance and Accountability Returns (AGAR)
• Shared Anti-Fraud Service (SAFS) - 
  We can support you with a broad range of award-winning anti-fraud activities, and provide you with a bespoke service designed to suit your needs.

Get behind our campaigns

• Your Hertfordshire is our guide for residents on how Council Tax is spent. We are not sending this to all households this year, but we will be sharing it online and distributing hard copies through libraires, family centres, healthy hubs, GP surgeries and other outlets, partners and venues across the county. Email corporate.communications@hertfordshire.gov.uk with any requests for copies.

• Let’s clear the air is a campaign that highlights some of the simple, small actions we can all make to protect ourselves and our communities from air pollution.
• The Hertfordshire Directory lists community services, groups, and activities in the county. Anyone can search the directory to find services and providers. If you offer a service, you can create an account and list your group or activity.
• We're increasing payments to sponsors of Ukrainian guests.
