Hertfordshire Libraries Service is 100!

We're excited to celebrate 100 years of Hertfordshire Libraries this year and everyone in Hertfordshire is invited to join us.

With author events, a 100 day poetry festival, Herts Big Read, and events for children, there's plenty going on in 2025 to celebrate.

Speak to a crime prevention expert to stay safe and secure online.

Hertfordshire Police and Hertfordshire Libraries are hosting a countywide tour of free day-long drop-in events featuring talks from Hertfordshire Police and Hertfordshire County Council Trading Standards, as well as opportunities to ask questions.

Baby Rhyme Time

Baby Rhyme Time is a fun half hour session of songs and rhymes suitable for babies and toddlers. Baby Rhyme Time helps your child to learn language skills and is an opportunity for you to meet other families too.

Sessions are free, but we welcome cash donations in the library. Places are limited. Depending on capacity some libraries are using Eventbrite to manager numbers and others no longer require pre-booking. Please check the details for your library before travelling.

Storytime

These interactive story sessions are perfect for pre-school children to enjoy with their parent/carer. Join in with a mix of picture book stories & rhymes. Discover lots of new stories as well as old favourites like The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Gruffalo. Then choose your own books to borrow and share at home.

Sessions are free (donations welcomed) and you don't have to book in advance.
