Terms and conditions
This scheme provides access to discounts of 15% on the purchase of reusable nappies and other related items from selected suppliers. The scheme is open to Hertfordshire residents to apply via the Waste Aware HERTS Reusable Nappies incentive scheme at https://www.wasteaware.org.uk/reusablenappies.
Eligibility for the discounts is confined to those
• Living at a permanent address within the boundaries of Hertfordshire;
• Caring for a child of nappy-wearing age or expecting a child.
Discretion will be used if an applicant has another reason for applying, such as an older child who has a medical or other requirement for nappies.
To obtain the discounts in the form of codes applicants will
• Apply using the e-form at https://www.wasteaware.org.uk/reusablenappies;
• Provide an email address to receive the link to the discount codes;
• Confirm how they heard about the scheme.
Other Conditions
• Discount code(s) are for the personal use of applicants;
• Discount codes must be used by the applicant only.
Please note:
- Using cloth nappies needn’t be daunting to start with. We are here to help! Please contact us via wasteaware@hertfordshire.gov.uk and/or join our Facebook support group https://www.facebook.com/groups/260000381471079.
- Once you have finished with the nappies, or if you don’t get on with them, please consider donating them to your local nappy library (http://www.uknappynetwork.org/find-a-library.html) or return them to the council so others can make use of them.
- Upon completing your application, your eligibility will be checked. Officers may need to contact you to check details as part of your application.
Access to the discount codes will be possible only on confirmation of an address within Hertfordshire;
- Applicants will receive an email within 5 working days confirming the outcome of their application;
- Your email address will not be shared with anyone for any other purpose. WasteAware will, however, contact you within six months of application to ask some details about how you have used the codes. WasteAware will also contact you from time to time with further information to support you in using real nappies. We will provide emails with details of events or workshops, advice, suggestions, new promotions and/or new suppliers. You can request not to receive this information at any time by emailing wasteaware@hertfordshire.org.uk;
- Discount codes from multiple suppliers may be used;
- Conditions on the discount code will vary according to supplier. Some are single use, others are multi use or time limited. Details will be specified by each supplier.
- Information containing your name, address and other contact details will be kept on file by Hertfordshire County Council for 7 years as a financial record;
- Suppliers partnering with us in this scheme will have access to your details for the purposes of confirming eligibility to authorise the discount code at checkout. Our partners will not use your details for any other purposes, unless you give them express permission via their website upon purchasing items from them.
Our term and conditions are subject to change as necessary in order to ensure the continuation of the scheme. Details will be updated on the website as and when any changes occur.
Privacy notice
Why we need your information
The data on this form is required so your application to the HERTS Reusable Nappies scheme can be processed. If validated, you will receive access to 15% discount on reusable nappies and associated products from participating suppliers.
Hertfordshire County Council will use the information to enable your application to be processed in line with the terms of the scheme and recorded to ensure no duplicate applications using the same name, email address or postal address. Without this information we will be unable to validate your application.
Your details will be made available to our Reusable Nappy suppliers to confirm if you are eligible to use the code(s). Without sharing this information your use of the code with suppliers will unable to validated.
This will help us to meet our statutory responsibilities as a Waste Disposal Authority to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
What we will do with your information
The information you give us will be held by the Waste Management Team at Hertfordshire County Council. In order to deliver this service, we will share your information with SERCO who administer the form, and the suppliers (brands and retailers) who are partnering with us as part of the HERTS Reusable Nappies scheme. Your data may also be used for monitoring efficiency and analysis of the scheme.
Your email address will be used to contact you within six months of your application to ask some details about how you have used the codes and your reusable nappy use. WasteAware will also contact you from time to time with further information to support you in using reusable nappies. We will send you infrequent emails with details of events or workshops, advice, suggestions, new promotions and/or new suppliers. How long we will keep your information
The information that you supply to us will be kept on file for 7 years.
What are your rights?
Hertfordshire County Council will be the Data Controller for this information.
You have the following rights in relation to this data:
• You have the right to be informed about what information we hold about you and how we use it.
• You have the right to request copies of any information the Council holds about you by making a subject access request.
• If information we hold about you is factually inaccurate you have the right to have it corrected.
• You have the right to object to the way we are using your data.
• You have the right to request that your data is deleted. However we may be unable to delete your data if there is a need for us to keep it. In this case you will receive an explanation of why we need to keep the data.
• You can also request that we stop using your data while we consider a request to have it corrected or deleted. There may be some circumstances in which we are unable to do this however we will provide an explanation if this is the case.
• In certain circumstances you may also request data we hold about you in a format that allows it to be transferred to another organisation.
• In the event that decisions are taken using automated processes you have the right to request that these decisions are reviewed by a member of staff and to challenge these decisions.
If you would like to request copies of your data, request that your data is deleted or have any other queries in relation to data which the Council holds about you please contact the Data Protection Team.
