Why reuse?

Recycling is great – reuse is better!

When you reuse an item, you are helping to:

  • save more of the earth’s resources, which will no longer be needed to make new items
  • save the energy that would otherwise be used to process recycling items
  • save items from ending up in landfills or recovery facilities
  • improve air quality and health for our residents, by reducing the number of vehicles on the road transporting waste.

Great bargains for you and a cleaner and greener environment - win-win!

Community donations

We work with district councils to donate items from our shops to community groups, schools and individuals in need.

An upcycling charity re-upholstering a chair

Furniture for Recover - a local charity that offers upcycling workshops to people suffering from mental illness and addiction.

Ware Rotary Club members with donated tools

Tools for Ware Rotary Club, who work with the Tools for Self Reliance charity. They are refurbished by people with disabilities, then sent to Africa for sustainable living projects.

Herts Disability Sports Foundation rep with a donated bike

Over 200 bikes for Hertfordshire Disability Sports Foundation, who repair the bikes, then give them to children in school Bikeability schemes.
