As a result of concerns expressed by the local community and following this petition, Hertfordshire County Council is undertaking a review of the current speed limit along the A505 in the vicinity of Lilley. Speed surveys are currently taking place at this location. The results of these will then be assessed in liaison with Hertfordshire Constabulary and with reference to the County Council’s Speed Management Strategy, which is linked to national guidance on the setting of appropriate speed limits. The speed surveys and assessment are being funded by County Councillor David Barnard through his Highways Locality Budget. Whilst we cannot give any assurances at this stage regarding the likely outcome, we hope those who have raised the issue will be reassured that we have taken their concerns seriously, and are ensuring this request is fully investigated.
