Bookstart

Bookstart is a free book pack from the charity BookTrust to encourage families to share books, stories and rhymes with their children from as young an age as possible.

Each pack has specific books and activities depending on your children's needs:

  • Bookstart Baby is for all babies 0-12 months.
  • Bookstart Touch for children 0-5 years who are blind or partially sighted.
  • Bookstart Shine for children 0-5 years who are deaf.
  • Bookstart star for children 3-5 years with conditions affecting their fine motor skills.

When you show books to babies and young children, they love listening to your voice reading the story and enjoy looking at the pictures with you. Reading with your child helps them to learn new words, to understand the world and their feelings, and to build their imagination– all whilst you have fun together.

If you have any questions, email us about Bookstart.
