Hertfordshire County Council

Get someone to help you speak up and be heard. This person is sometimes called an 'advocate'.

An advocate will:

  • listen to you
  • go to meetings with you
  • make phone calls for you
  • write letters with you
  • help you understand information.

Advocates are trained to do their job. They don't work for the council.

An advocate will not tell you what to do. They will not do things without you asking them to.
