Before you start...
You'll need the following documents:
You must make coordination checks to ensure your closure and diversion won't affect other works.
You can't start any works until you have a valid traffic regulation order and permit.

Types of temporary regulation orders
We're unable to provide updates on applications-in-progress, but we'll get in contact if a site visit is needed.
Standard traffic regulation order
These are for planned works on a road.
- Cost: £1,877
- Application processing time: 8 weeks minimum
- Valid for 18 months, if they affect right of way they only last for 6 months.
Traffic regulation notice (emergency)
You can't apply for these in advance.
- Cost: £766
- Application processing time: 4 weeks minimum
- Valid for 21 days.
