Salt bins in Hertfordshire

We will do our best to fill existing salt bins at the beginning of winter every year and after prolonged periods of snow or ice, depending on our winter service budget.

Please contact your local county councillor. Each county councillor can apply for two new salt bins, as long as they meet certain criteria.

• You only need 1 heaped teaspoon of salt per square metre of footpath.
