Gypsy and Traveller sites in Hertfordshire


There are 55 Gypsy and Traveller sites in Hertfordshire.


A blue caravan icon  We manage 11 of them
, including:

  • 10 permanent sites, providing 187 pitches.
  • 1 short stay (transit) site, providing 15 pitches.


The others are  A purple padlock icon  private sites or  A red X-shaped icon  unlicensed sites.

What happens next?

When a pitch becomes available, we will consider all applicants in order of priority. Waiting list application process (DOCX 110kb).

Weekly pitch charges:

  • Pitch rent: £111.87
  • Electricity: £3.05
  • Water: £16.50 (no charge for pitches with Affinity water meter)
  • Total: 131.42

 

Short stay (transit) site

To apply, contact us to speak to the site manager.

Parking fees:

  • 1 unit: £80 per week

 

Private sites

If you'd like to stay on one of these sites, please contact the owners directly.

What does the Gypsy and Traveller Service do?

We are the landlords for all of Hertfordshire County Council's Gypsy and Traveller sites.

We manage and maintain accommodation for Gypsy and Traveller families on 10 permanent and one short stay (transit) site. 

Our service is funded by the rents collected from these sites.
