Early Years Refresh

At the Local Offer we are continually trying to improve our pages and make them more relevant to the parents and carers who use them. 

We recently carried out a 're-fresh' of our Early Years webpages working with professionals and parents from HPCI and the SEND online feedback group to review the existing pages, and understand what extra information we could include to give families the support they need.

We asked parents in our SEND online feedback group about the things they found important during their child's early years.  They highlighted the importance of gaining support from other parents, and activities and support groups, so we reorganised our Early Years home page and added links to our 'events and activities' page as well as to support organisations and groups.

After chatting with parents from HPCI, we know that in the early stages of discovering a child's SEND needs, families might be dealing with a bit of shock, and other complex emotions.  We have made the Early Years Advice Line a stand-out feature for those parents who would rather pick up the phone and talk through their needs with an Early Years professional.
